I began photography as a creative outlet; a visual escape from the realities of everyday living. The magic of the camera changed my perspective on how to view the world around me. I digested the intricacies of technical photography years ago on my Aunt's manual Minolta camera and have been hooked ever since. Thank you Kim for inspiring what has blossomed into a career with purpose.
While many photographers flock to black and white, I relish the world of color. Quite simply, I shoot what I like to see. My vision is to pull details out of the mundane in order to showcase them in a new perspective. Along with that goal, I want rich colors. Vibrant Saturated Colors.
I am based out of Hamilton, OH, which is quite close to Cincinnati. I find visible stimulation in nature, which typically sends me to floral displays and local parks. Recently, my focus has been captivated by the beauty in accent details on classic cars. I have also experimented with the further-altered reality of sepia and infrared film.
Thank you for stopping by and spending a few moments in my world. Try to make a concerted effort to open yourself visually.
I will leave you with a quote from one of my favorite movies, "American Beauty".
"It was one of those days when it's a minute away from snowing and there's this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it. And this bag was, like, dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. And that's the day I knew there was this entire life behind things, and... this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... and I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in."
